Charity Membership

Join Pain Concern’s membership and help us provide information and support for people with pain, their families and the healthcare professionals who care for them.

See our recent achievements to find out about the kind of work that you would be supporting.


Why join?

Membership is an easy, positive way of showing your support for our work. A year’s membership costs £1.00.

That’s all you need do! We do not expect you to volunteer in any way. As a member you will receive Pain Matters magazine and other regular updates on our work.


Who can apply?

To qualify for individual membership you must be 18 years or over and interested in furthering Pain Concern’s work.


Members’ meetings

If you are 18 or over, you will be invited to any general members’ meeting including our Annual General Meeting. This is where you can hear about our activities, our financial position and have your say on who should be running the charity by nominating and voting for members of the committee.


How to apply

To apply for membership, use the ‘add to basket’ option on this page or apply by post or email. Your application will be acknowledged and will be considered at the next Board meeting.


Terms and conditions of membership

Your rights and obligations

If you are 18 or over, you have the right to attend the annual general meeting (and any general meeting) and have important powers under our articles of association and in law.

There is just one legal obligation on members and that is you are liable to make a one-off payment of £1 if the charity is wound up in order to support the costs of winding up and paying off any debts. One pound is the absolute maximum, no-one can ask for any more.
