Celebrating Our Volunteers – Volunteers’ Week 2025
At Pain Concern, we always say “without our volunteers, we couldn’t do what we do.”
This statement rings especially true during Volunteers’ Week, a time to pause and recognise the incredible contribution our volunteers make to the charity every day.
Our volunteers are the heart of everything we do.Their time, skills, and dedication help us reach thousands of people living with pain.
Marjorie Fisher – Special Recognition Award
This year, we are thrilled to announce that Marjorie, our Web and Media Volunteer has been selected for a Special Recognition Award as Digital Volunteer at the 2025 Inspiring Volunteer Awards Ceremony. Marjorie has brought an abundance of both creativity and technical expertise to our digital outreach, and we are proud to see her work honoured in such a brilliant way. The award will be presented by The Rt. Hon. Lord Provost and Lord Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh, Robert Aldridge at the City Chambers on Monday 2nd June. Our team will be there to collect the award on Marjorie’s behalf and celebrate this achievement.
Urszula Sadecka – Special Thanks
We are also proud to recognise Urszula, our diligent Accounts Assistant Volunteer who joined us May 2024. Urszula has transformed our finance processes, dedicating five hours each week to the charity. Thanks to her, we have strengthened our funding applications and budgeting for our highly rated and recommended Pain Education Sessions. In the words of our CEO Heather Wallace, “Urszula has processed thousands of transactions accurately. She just rolls up her sleeves and gets on with it. She’s helped me do my job, and that in turn helps us to help others.”
Celebrations
To celebrate Volunteers’ Week, we will also be sharing volunteer stories across our social media, hosting an online quiz and gathering for a virtual coffee morning. It’s our way of saying thank you for the time, commitment, and heart each of our volunteers bring to Pain Concern.
