The Faculty of Pain Medicine has brought together some interesting resources on its website, fpm.ac.uk/evolving-challenges-delivering-pain-service-during-covid-19-pandemic.
Most of the advice is for health professionals, including (despite the title) Covid-19 Guidance for Chronic Pain Patients from the American and European Societies for Regional Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine. The use of telemedicine and some of the problems of prescribing pain medicines to chronic pain patients who also have Covid-19 are highlighted. But for patients the best link is to an article in Pain News Network advising how pain patients in the United States should prepare for the pandemic, especially in terms of ensuring supplies of medication. The specific advice is of course not relevant to our NHS but this thought-provoking article may stimulate some good ideas in preparing for a longer-term lockdown.
